Mornings are important,what you do every morning once you wake up, can greatly affect how productive you will be throughout the day. The truth is that many people still don’t realize that, how they chose their morning activity can either give them clearer perspective of things or not. You don’t necessary need it to follow a certain routine.
Nobody likes having a bad day. I Know it can be very difficult to keep yourself feeling organized and positive throughout the day, Truth me I have had my own share of frustration so I completely understand. But Hopefully by the time you are through reading this post I guarantee that you’ll be able to feel more confident in your abilities to control yourself whenever you find yourself feeling frustrated and confused.
We realized that planning our day, helps us manage our time time better especially if you are an entrepreneur because it reduces your chances of getting burned out. Some of the things that we started doing every morning have now become a habit which I must say has helped both of us in our journey so far. Funny! right?
So I’ll begin with the simple things you can do once you wake up every morning that can make a big impact on how productive the rest of the day will be for you.
Drink some water.
This might seem a little weird and creepy but there’s no better way to start off your day. Drinking water once you wake up in the morning has amazing benefits that they provide to the body. They help boost your alertness and keeps you hydrated. Staying hydrated always improves your overall body and brain functions.
If you are the type that likes to work with your room clean and organized, you may want to do this first when you wake up. I like to keep a Natural makeup look throughout the day, especially days when we have to work from home. It helps us stay alert.
For I and my sister, we work better and our head functions better when we know that our room has been put together. We don’t know about others but for us both, it’s almost impossible for us to focus on anything when we know that our environment hasn’t been kept clean.
Start by clearing out your clustered reading table or keep those clothes scattered all over back in your wardrobe.
Once you’re done cleaning out your space. you can perform some self care ritual. Take a cold shower if you can and if you can’t, try having mild not hot shower. This really help you reduce stress and increase your energy.

You don’t want anything distracting you when you are trying to concentrate do you?
Meditate/ Think positively.
I believe that these two things go hand-in-hand. Negative thought attracts distractions. Successful people don’t dwell on the past, avoid thinking about negative things or your failures from the past.
One of the thing we like to do every morning to get rid of negative thoughts is meditation. There Several ways you can meditate,but the simplest way for us to meditate is by using the gratitude checklist method.
Every morning I like to remind myself of the things I should be grateful for. The trick to this is to that the more you can think of things to be grateful for, the easier it is to avoid having negative things to complain about. It’s just so simple!
If you have the time,you can meditate while doing some yoga. We have been loving the yoga tips we’ve recently learned from Katiedidwhat.com her explanations of yoga for beginner and her progress with her one year detox was what we really needed.
As a blogger or even a 9 to 5 job employee, setting plans and goals can be resourceful. Planning out your day helps you work better and keeps your mind focused on target that has set for the day.
When planning out your day always remember to plan it out in order of our importance, start with goals that requires urgency. Another helpful tip that we always use is that we plan out things in order of how much time it would take to complete the task.
So start from little tasks then take on bigger ones afterwards. You don’t want to start with the really big and time consuming tasks, which you may not finish.
We prepared a daily planner, if you’re a beginner I recommend you give it a try. Divine and I have been using this planner and it has really helped us plan our day well, plus it just saves us the time. Time is what we all need. We use our productivity planner for this.
Some of my tips for planning;
- Create a specific Planning system. Make sure you are planning out your day starting from smaller task to the bigger ones.
- Allocate more time to bigger task and less time to smaller ones.Always stick with the time, and avoiding spending too much time on one task.
- Take your planner with you if you can, they help remind you, you can also keep check on tasks completed.
- Stop planning your day, by setting unrealistic goals because you’ll definitely end up feeling disappointed.
- At the end of the day, if you have an uncompleted task, you can carry it over to the next day.
The reason for planning is so that things planned for can be carried out. So once the planning phase is completed you can now start executing all that you have planned out in order of importance.
Why planning and execution is important is because sticking to the things planned out already gives you the sense of accomplishment throughout the day.
This is one of the most difficult aspects of planning and it requires a great level of self discipline to stick to a plan. Saying no to everything else and sticking to the plan can be very challenging especially if you are a newbie to this type of life style but trust me it’s worth it! And you’ll know this when try it.
If you do this continuously it will help you achieve a lot in one day rather than spend your day doing absolutely nothing but wasting your time.
Create An Evening Routine.
Having evening routines is also a way to relax and unwind after a long stressful day of executing your plans. God knows we love having our evening routines! If you feel tired,you can take a walk, use your phone to surf around the internet, I normally love to use these Ten powerful social media to grow my blog.
During my evening times we engage with other online creators, promote our blog posts and ever since we started doing this, it has made our day so much more productive than it used to be. Some times we chat with friends and family.
If you need your evening routines to feel more relax, then maybe listening to some podcasts or playlists or maybe reading a book can help you feel more relaxed.
Also before you go to bed take some time to reflect on the events of the day, don’t forget take note things you don’t want o forget. This will help you a lot when planning the next day.
Remember always that success never comes easy. Always try to be consistent in your daily planning and execution. Make conscious effort to set realistic goals, don’t compare your progress with anyone and always remain committed to your dreams.
