Lately, I have been feeling the no-makeup look, I find it easier to wear, plus there’s no denying the fact that somedays you just don’t have the time to put on a full face of makeup especially when you don’t have important events to be at.
As you know, I have been trying my best to stick to a minimal makeup routine, I believe you don’t need to have quite a lot of makeup products these days to achieve a full coverage makeup look. Therefore, I decided to share some of the basic makeup Staples that you can use to achieve a No makeup look.
Gone are the days, when you had to wear a full face of heavy foundations and heavily running mascara on your lower lash line for nights outs, these days you can enjoy your nights out with having to wear a lot of makeup regardless of your skin imperfections.
Some of my honorable mention below are products am almost certain to replace if I run out of them, they handy and I take them with me because of course, they serve multiple purposes. I’ll start with my favorite of all
Farsali Unicorn Face Essence: I have been obsessed about a good primer but the farsali unicorn essence holds a special place in my heart. It serves as both primer and moisturizer and that’s why I love it! For a simple get-away, you’d definitely not regret making this your first choice. It is a serum, packed with vitamins, I use it on my skincare days as well.
It leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated, whenever I use it I notice a difference in the appearance of my pores, they become smaller and it gives an overall smooth finish to my skin. So I say it’s multi-functional. Who wouldn’t love that!
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-touch Sunblock SPF 50+; SPF provides necessary protection the skin needs against UV Rays. A quick tip you can use to give your skin some extra protection is to use an SPF before applying makeup. This is the final step I use for My skincare Routine before I apply makeup on my face.
There are loads of SPF creams that drys out the skin and leaves a white cast on the face, am not a fan of such SPF because I like to keep my face super moisturized (even though some people with oily skin types think otherwise). This SPF cream does not leave my face feeling greasy and the best thing I love about it is that it doesn’t leave a white cast.
The trick to this is to apply it after using your primer and moisturizer. It balances it out and doesn’t dry your face. It just leaves your face feels semi-matte. Which is great if your face feels greasy all the time!
Makeup Revolution Conceal And Hydrate: I have been an avid user of makeup revolution products, I love their brand. Which is why I am more than pumped to recommend it to you. For a relaxed and more natural look the ‘conceal and hydrate’ does it better than the ‘conceal and define’. Hyperpigmentation has been something I struggle with, the trick is to conceal all of my dark spots before applying my foundation. The coverage I get from this Definitely one I can’t complain about.
Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Pencil: Words alone can’t describe how in love I am with this brow pencil. It’s budget-friendly and it leaves your brows looking like you put in less effort into it. One thing I love about this pencil is that it is retractable on one end and the other has a spoolie to it. I can brush my brows in place at any time and place. The brow product has a balance to it doesn’t feel too hard and it isn’t so creamy as well. This makes the application process a lot easier. I am obsessed!
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Shade Mahogany; I have been meaning to tell you guys about how this foundation came to change my life. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect before trying it out but I guess it can say it exceeded all of my expectations. It’s definitely buildable, it’s lightweight, and can do the job when it comes to achieving a very natural look. For a very minimal look, I just use a thin layer and it gives me a very nice semi-matte finish which I love!
L.a Girl Pressed Face Powder In Chestnut; La girl brand has been an oldie fave of ours. We literally started out when We first picked up interest in makeup and its no surprise as to why this brand holds a special place in my heart. Nevertheless, the pressed powder does the job for us. It’s budget-friendly as well, doesn’t dry out our face which is perfect if you are trying to achieve a natural make upbeat.
I’lld say it does an amazing job of setting my entire face without making it look cakey. Definitely brightens up my face even without baking.
Make Up Revolution Highlighter; One beauty trend that i can’t seem to let go off, is adding an element of glow to makeup. I love a natural beat look with a lil bit of glow. some highlighters don’t compliment the look because of difference in their texture, i love the makeup revolution, it has a buttery smooth finish, it blends beautifully with the skin and makes it look like you are have a natural glow to your skin. This is why this highlighter is one i’ll almost certainly replace once it’s used up.
Ofra Mist Setting Spray; You hear beauty experts squawk about this product, I guess it’s because it works magic, never left a streak whenever I used it. It’s just as impressive as other high-end setters. perhaps even better? It worked amazingly, especially for my oily skin type. Definitely would have a much better result if you have a normal to dry skin. So definitely worth the splurge!
The Face Shop Lip Care Cream- Shea Butter; the smell is heavenly, comes in one other flavor the mango. I personally love the nourishing effect I get from applying just a healthy size of it and leaving it overnight! it doesn’t have too much fragrance in it! I use it before applying my lipstick and it keeps my lips feeling soft.
Bobbi Brown Mascara; For a little touch of sass and long fluttery lash look, layering your mascara might do a great deed. Go lightly if your goal is to achieve a sexy and versatile look to your lashes. I really appreciate how relived i feel whenever i know a mascara has it’s place in my makeup bag.
Hope you enjoyed my little shared secret on how I achieve my natural no-makeup look using some of my recent loves and makeup bags. Let me know if you’ve tried any? would love to hear your thoughts on them as well!!
